The American Pledge of Allegiance states that Americans should stand for "liberty and just ice for all." For all. This includes the unborn. Preborn lives matter and should be protected.

The debate about whether or not abortion should be legal is a nuanced, complex problem. While the goal of the pro-life movement is to end abortion, making abortion instantly illegal could conversely increase the number of abortions that are conducted in unsafe, unsanitary locations. Law makers and politicians should find a balance, ideally phasing out the legality of abortion while increasing emphasis on government-funded family centers and access to appropriate birth control.

Abortion laws are different for every state because abortion is considered, in part, to be a state issue. To truly become a proponent for change, consider researching abortion laws that are currently in place according to where you live.

Educating yourself about abortion laws will enable you to make informed decisions when selecting state and local leaders, voting in presidential elections, and advocating for an end to abortion.
