Did you know that when you support women's shelters, you are directly helping women who are most at risk for domestic violence, rape, and crisis pregnancies?
As the weather turns colder and we approach the winter season, we also approach a season for gratitude and giving. Today, we invite you to help vulnerable women who are in crisis (and, often, their young families) by donating to a local women's shelter. You'll be making a direct influence on your community and helping at-risk groups in your community realize that they matter.
Consider donating the following:
- financial donations
- sweaters
- coats
- hats
- gloves
- mittens
-long pants
- shirts
- socks
- shoes
- hygiene supplies (toothbrushes, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, hairbrushes, etc.)
- children's clothes (any size)
- baby clothes (any size)
- diapers
Contact your local women's shelter to learn about which items are currently in high demand. Some shelters may request that clothing items are lightly used or new; please check with them to ensure that all donations are appropriate and fit their needs.
